Word for 2006

"Closing Doors"

I want to share something with you and I’m going to be a little ambiguous about it. This is a year where you have to close some doors. You have to open some doors and these doors have to do with relationships.

To be able to go with God to the next level you have to be able to do some things about some relationships. You can’t about all of them, but the things that you can do something about, you can do something about. I pray, quite frequently, "Father, is there anything in me that needs to go. That I need delivered of so I can grow more in you, because I want more of you." It’s the only anymore that matters to me. You know, on any kind of large scale.

If you ever pray that prayer He’s going to show you something in your life that’s got to go. Something that has to be rectified. Something that must be changed. Because you’ll be stuck right where you’re at until you can deal with that.

I was praying that the other day...had a wonderful time and had communion. I take communion almost every day by myself. (You guys should be taking communion. There’s such benefits in that and you don’t have someone to do that for you. You’re a king and a priest). Had communion and I’m flying high. I’m having a wonderful day. Going out to do some things for myself. I said, "Is there anything, Father, that you would like me to deal with?" Then I went on my way. I went to Kokomo and I did some shopping. I went to get my nails done and they said, "We’re busy. Can you come back in two hours?" And I said, "Yeah, I can!" Well, I’m not going home. It’ll take me an hour to drive home and an hour to drive back. That would be fun, but you know, why run out the gas at these prices. Well, I think I’m going to go over to Catherine’s. No, I don’t feel like trying on clothes. I think I’ll go to Wal-Mart. No, I’ve been there too much in the month of December. I’m not going to go over there either. Well, I’m right next door to Sam’s Club. I think I’ll go over there and go to the bathroom just because I’m in the next parking lot. Go in there. Go to the bathroom. I’m still flying high. Having a wonderful day. Come out of the bathroom and I say, "Lord, you know, I really don’t want to shop in here for two hours, so what would You like to do for two hours?" Don’t ask that question. It was no sooner out of my mouth and I turned a corner and there stood someone that I’d had an issue with for four years. I said, "Okay, I see Your plan." And I know this is because I need deliverance! And we talked for about an hour and forty-five minutes…about an hour and forty minutes or around there somewhere. We nearly talked my two hours. I just had enough time to get back the nail salon. We were hugging in the middle of Sam’s Club. God issues straightened out. It was awesome. And, you know, when the hugs came and everything was good, I said, "Now, I’ve had Christmas. Now, I’ve had Christmas!" Because see, He’d been telling me relationship issues, if you can, sometimes you can’t, sometimes people have passed away and you can’t, but you can forgive. But if there is something you can do, do it. If there is something that is hindering you, just make that silly prayer and then, watch out! Cause I just walked smack into them, I said, "Hi!" And for the first time in four years, they said, "Hi!" back to me. Because every time I would run into them, I would say "Hi!" and they would not.

This is a year for broken relationships to be mended. This is a year to let go of garbage so that you can go higher.

Now, I’m going to give you something to go with Matthew 6:33. "Seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you." God gave me that verse and then I read something in a book I’d like to share with you. Because if you will do this you will reach your goal, your destiny, and everything else you want. Every goal that you have. Seek first. See it first. If you catch yourself, at any time, doing something that is not in support of your priority..stop! If you find yourself, at any time, doing something that is not in support of your priority or is antagonistic to it…stop! If you catch yourself, at any time, doing something that is not in support of your priority or is antagonistic to it…stop! Stop what you’re doing and change to something that is consistent with your priority. Hey, I tell you, I was convicted. If I say in the new year I’m going to make losing weight a priority and I go to put the cake in my mouth, stop! If I say I’m not going to throw a temper tantrum ( I haven’t done that in a long time so I can talk about it). Hey! They used to call me Thumper. I’d stomp my foot. But if you have made a priority to change your behavior whether it’s anger, whether it’s fear, whatever it is. If you’ve made a priority to change and you find yourself start to…stop! Stop and do something that is consistent with your priority. I thought that was the most awesome thing so I’ve got to read it to you again. Matthew 6:33 "Seek ye first"…and I’m going to say this one hundred times cause when you leave here you’re going to remember it. And what’s your priority? And what did the Bible say? "Doing all things to be at peace with everyone." The body of Christ has to stop fighting. We have to stop being mad at each other. We have to stop being mad at other denominations. It just has to stop. But seek ye first the kingdom of God and if you catch yourself, at any time, doing something that is not in support of the kingdom of God…stop! See ye first the kingdom of God and if you catch yourself, at any time, doing something that is not in support of the kingdom of God or antagonistic to the kingdom of God…stop! And change! You can. You can do it that fast. I had opportunity. See, God tells you these little things and then He lets you take these tests.
